Original Class Plays

One of the most anticipated activities for a Waldorf class is the preparation and performance of a class play. As with everything else in the curriculum, the complexity of the dramatic performances unfold organically over the years of the elementary school. Each grade is usually delighted by their class play and the new levels of dramatic skills they gain as they move from grade to grade. Rehearsals and performances often allow different children to shine each year, and they add value to the social mix of the group.

The following plays were written for specific classes, but some have been rewritten many times to be used by other groups. If you choose to purchase one of them, I encourage you to add your own changes so the play can truly offer something unique for your group.

The videos in each course contain information and suggestions based on my 40+ years of experience, observations and studies as a Waldorf teacher. My work as a class teacher, teacher trainer, evaluator, mentor teacher, and speaker informs everything I have included on this website. This site is not affiliated with any training center or school. My inspiration comes from the education lectures and books that Rudolf Steiner developed from his insights into the development of children.

I disavow any of his work that is not inclusive and equitable to all.
